Talk to Cardiologist on Chest Pain With Blood In Sputum
Asking For Self, Female 40, Malaysia
past 3 month I have been suffering with coughing 15 days back I have seen blood in my sputum I have done chest x ray and AFB sputum test which is neg waiting for my culture sputum results please dr. guide me is this possible to get tb or cancer with normal chest x ray ??? and what should I do next for me to get proper diagnosis? now I am doing nebulisation with atem +normal sline please reply I amsi worried thanks attaching my x rays

yes this is possible but this would be diagnosis of exclusion.to exclude all other options. As chest x-ray is normal.Is blood continuously coming with sputum or was it just one episode???
Keeping your age and this chest xray.. Cancer is unlikely as chest xray is perfectly normal.. Baqi I would like to ask you additional questions..
Like weight loss.
Night sweats
Fever
And more over a single test of sputum can not exclude TB.. So you needs two more tests.
And hemoptysis that is blood in sputum maybe because of stomach ulcer or TB
So please respond to my questions and do accordingly.

thanks for replying dr. no I don't have fever or weigh loss i am waiting for my sputum culture results the chest x ray I have done 2 time one is with report is recent and another the film one is done in Aug

And please let me know if ur chest wheezy or not? Or u have recurrent flue? Or any family history of chest disease asthma etc.

my gp check and said my chest is fine but I am having wheezing cough and my grandmother has tb she passed away she got recovered with tb but after that she got breathing problems she was 80 years old

So please kindly do pulmonary function test that's called PFTs. As I have a strong suspicious that u are having mild asthma and ur cough can be treated with proper treatment.

So for proper diagnosis you need PFTS with reversiblity test. Culture test will exclude TB.. And ur cough is because of wheezy chest..

Yes pulmonary function tests is basically for diagnosis of lung diseases that either it is obtructive or restrictive pattern.. And moreover to know its grades. Like to show whether mild asthma or moderate or severe... And u can do it right now.. Not waiting for culture report..

You need to start inhalers, use tansamine tablets and proper cough Syp and short course of steroid

can you named the medication my GP has done 1 episode of antibiotics but I didn't notice any difference and when I complained for the chest pain he said must be muscles pain then he gave me med for muscles pain but I didn't get any relief
