Asking for Husband, Male, 32 years old, Rawalpindi
My hubby resides abroad. They are not treating anyone except Coronavirus patients. He is having severe chest pain with shortness of breath. He experiences severe pain in the 3rd rib on the right side that's y he feels difficulty in breathing? Is it due to stress? Or some injury on rib? Is it cardiac or non cardiac? What should he do? Please some cardiologist guide us here. JazakAllah.

To answer his concern. He need to answer more questions. Such as; any fever, any history of trauma or fall, does the pain comes and goes or it is always there and does the pain intensity varies with breathing , any associated cough , any history of smoking etc

He used to smoke but has quitted now. He has coughing since January but it's not dry cough. No fever. Pain comes and goes. It's not consistent. He feels difficulty in breathing due to pain. He used to do exercise and he says k during exercise kuch issue hoa hay.

If the cough is productive what is the color of his sputum. For how many years he smoked and how many cigarettes a day. Does he feel pain when he touches that painful area of chest ?

Yes he feels pain when he touches. He smoked for almost 8 years but 1 cigarette per day. Sputum is bit yellowish in colour

Did he take any medicines at all for the cough and pain ?

Based on the information his pain is non-cardiac. It is related to his chest/lungs. He should visit his Local GP. If not possible then he can take over the counter medicines available in nearby pharmacy; Ibuprofen and any cough syp. ( local pharmacist will be helpful )

Ok I want to ask u few qst first. Is he a smoker? Is there positive cardiac history in his family ?is he hypertensive?is he diabetic? Is chest pain pin pointing ?not spreading?and. Duration of pain?

He has quitted smoking. No, there is no positive cardiac history in his family. He is not diabetic. The pain is pin pointing. It lasts for few minutes. After sometimes it reoccurs and then it becomes difficult for him to breath.

He has quitted smoking. His father was a diabetic patient. No heart disease
