can any neurologist or neurosurgeon tell me the long term side effects of spinal anesthesia..is there any adverse effects on the recticular activating system or it cause any damage to it what are the symptoms or mild damage to severe ..
No I do not think you need to worry about it. The commonest side effect is headache which is temporary and settles in few days. Other side effects are v v rare. It does not damage your reticular activating system.If indicated please get your procedure done.
Spinal is safe. Unless by an untrained anesthetist or anesthesia technician.

Reticular system is normally not affected by in complicated spinal anesthesia. Symptoms like low back pain or numbness of some part distal to the site of injection is possible in less than 1 percent of pts. With fine needles more than 25 gauge size, other symptoms discribed are more likely psychological related to nervous system at higher level , may b a psychiatrist or counceller can help. But re evaluation/ examination by a specialist is required for final diagnosis and appropriate treatment .
Spinal headache. 2 no effect on that area although it may cause herniation
