Dr Akbar Ali Khan is Minimally Invasive Neurosurgeon at Shifa international bringing with him 23 years of experience and ground-breaking new surgical techniques and approaches. He is one of the only fully USA and UK trained and accredited Neurosurgeons practising in Pakistan and has worked at some of the worlds leading centres for Neurosurgery including the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He also completed a fellowship in Complex spinal surgery in the USA. He lead a Minimally invasive endoscopic neurosurgery service in a European country after developing it.
He is a highly skilled surgeon dedicated to achieving the highest level of care for patients. He is a champion for patient safety and ethical medical practice having trained in the National Health Service in the UK.
He has published scientific papers extensively within the Neurosurgical field and continues to be involved in academic Neurosurgery, is also an Assitant Professor at STMU and also continues to stay on top of developments within the field by attending international conferences and training. He is working towards establishing training in Minimally Invasive Neurosurgical techniques for other Neurosurgeons in the region.
