Most people associate dementia with memory loss, but the disease affects people in different ways. This may include behavioral changes, confusion, confusion, delusions and hallucinations, communication difficulties. Every experience of dementia is different. Dementia has different causes. The word "dementia" is only a general description of the symptoms. Symptoms of diseases are memory loss, confusion, and personality change. Alzheimer's disease is the leading cause, but dementia is dementia, Lewy's body dementia, and frontal dementia.
Dementia causes problems of thinking, memory, and thinking. Dementia occurs when the brain part which involved in learning, memory, decision-making, and speech are damaged or sick. Also referred to as severe neurocognitive disorder, it is not a disease in itself. Instead, it is a group of symptoms caused by other conditions. Alzheimer's disease is the leading cause of dementia. Alzheimer's disease is between 60% and 80% of those with dementia. However, there are up to 50 more causes of dementia. The symptoms of dementia can be improved by the treatment. But many diseases that cause dementia are not curable.
First, dementia can cause symptoms like the following:
Not coping well.
You may have difficulty accepting changes to schedules or the environment.
Subtle changes in the creation of short-term memory.
You or one of your relatives remembers the events of 15 years ago as if it were yesterday, but you do not remember what you had for lunch.
Achieve the right words.
Collecting or linking words can be more difficult.
Repeatability.
You can ask the same question, do the same thing, or tell the same story several times.
Sense of confused orientation.
The places you knew well before can seem strange to you. You may also have problems with the routes you have traveled for years because you are no longer known.
Problems following actions.
It can be difficult to trace a person's history or description.
Mood changes.
Depression, frustration, and anger are not uncommon in people with dementia.
Loss of interest.
Apathy can occur in people with dementia. This includes the loss of interest in hobbies or activities that you have already enjoyed.
Confusion.
People, places, and events may not seem familiar. You may not remember people you know.
Difficulty performing daily tasks.
It can be difficult to remember how to perform the tasks you have done for many years. In dementia, memory is not always a symptom of occurring. These first 10 signs indicate that your memory and your mental faculties are decreasing.
The most common causes of dementia are:
Neurological degenerative diseases.
These include Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease Alzheimer's disease, and some types of multiple sclerosis. These diseases get worse over time.
Vascular Diseases
These are disorders that affect the bloodstream in your brain.
Traumatic brain
The injury caused by car accidents falls, concussions, etc.
Infections of the central nervous system.
These include meningitis, HIV and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Prolonged consumption of alcohol or drugs. Some types of hydrocephalus, an accumulation of fluid in the brain
Age, however, is the greatest predictor. Other risk factors are:
Smoking and consuming alcohol
Atherosclerosis (a cardiovascular disease that narrows the arteries).
High content of "bad" cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins).
Blood levels above average for homocysteine (a type of amino acid).
Diabetes
A mild cognitive impairment sometimes, but not always, leads to dementia.
There are several types of dementia, including:
Lewy body dementia
Lewy body dementia is a neurodegenerative disease associated with abnormal structures in the brain. Brain changes include a protein called alpha-synuclein.
Mixed dementia
Mixed dementia refers to a diagnosis of two or three types that occur together. For example, a person may have Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia simultaneously.
Parkinson's disease
Parkinson's disease is also characterized by the presence of Lewy bodies. Although Parkinson's disease is often considered a movement disorder, it can also cause dementia symptoms.
Huntington's disease
Huntington's disease is characterized by some types of uncontrolled movement but includes dementia.
Other disorders that lead to symptoms of dementia are:
Frontotemporal demen
Frontotemporal dementia also called Pick's disease.
Hydrocephalus at normal pressure when excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain.
The posterior cortical
The posterior cortical atrophy is similar to the changes in Alzheimer's disease but in another part of the brain.
Down's syndrome
Down's syndrome increases the likelihood of Alzheimer's disease at a young age.
